Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Sabi Events ("Sabi", "we", "us") for your use of our website and services. By creating an account, buying a ticket or using Sabi to run an event, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Sabi.
1. What Sabi is
Sabi is a platform that lets organisers create events, sell tickets, check guests in and get paid, and lets attendees find events and buy tickets. The contract for an event is between the attendee and the organiser. Sabi provides the platform and handles payments on the organiser's behalf; we do not organise, run or control the events listed.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date. You need a verified email address to buy tickets or run events.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you must tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it.
- One person, one account. Do not share accounts; organisers should add teammates to their organiser team instead.
3. Buying tickets
- The price, fees and refund policy are shown before you pay. The amount you are charged is worked out by our servers at checkout.
- Tickets are issued to the account that bought them and carry a personal QR code. Treat it like cash: anyone who holds the code may be admitted, and we cannot replace a code you shared or lost control of.
- Organisers set the rules for their event (age limits, dress code, what you may bring). You must follow them and may be refused entry if you do not.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
4. Running events as an organiser
If you publish events or sell tickets you also agree that:
- everything you publish is accurate, lawful and yours to publish, and you will deliver the event as described or refund your buyers;
- you have all permits, licences and rights needed, including rights to any music, images, recordings and speakers' content;
- you are responsible for your own taxes, for looking after your guests' safety and for how you use the attendee data we share with you, which you must use only to run your event and must protect;
- you will complete identity verification before your first payout, and we may ask for more information at any time;
- you set your refund policy for each event, and you honour it.
5. Fees, payouts and chargebacks
- Our fees are listed on the Pricing page and shown when you set up an event. The fee for an order is fixed at the moment of purchase, so a later change in our fees does not change past orders.
- Ticket money is held and released to the organiser after the event ends, following a hold period (72 hours after the event by default, which can differ by organiser). Payouts go to a bank account you have added and verified.
- If a buyer disputes a payment or gets a refund, we may deduct the amount, and any related fees charged to us, from your balance or future payouts. If your balance is not enough, you agree to repay the difference.
- We may delay, hold or reverse a payout where we reasonably suspect fraud, a policy breach, a legal requirement or an unresolved dispute.
- Prices may be in Nigerian naira or US dollars. Payments are processed by our payment provider and are also subject to its terms.
6. Conduct and content
You must not use Sabi to:
- sell tickets to events that are illegal, fraudulent or that you do not intend to hold;
- post content that is unlawful, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- harass other users, spam them, or collect their data for any other purpose;
- interfere with the platform, probe it for weaknesses, scrape it, or bypass a limit or control.
You keep ownership of the content you post. You give us a licence to host, display and distribute it as needed to run Sabi, including showing your event to the public. We may remove content or disable an event that breaks these terms or the law. You can report a problem using the report option on an event or by emailing support@sabievents.com.
7. Livestreams and replays
When livestreams and replays are available, organisers choose who may watch and whether a replay is free or paid. A viewer gets a personal, non-commercial right to watch; you must not record, copy, share or resell a stream or replay. Organisers confirm they have all rights needed to stream and sell what they publish.
8. Our platform
Sabi, including its software, design and brand, belongs to us. We give you a limited right to use it as these terms allow. Some features and add-ons may be introduced, changed or withdrawn; we will not charge you for one that is not available.
9. Third-party services
Sabi uses services from others, such as payment processing, email and file storage. They are not under our control, and their own terms apply to the parts of the service they provide.
10. Suspension and ending
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account, cancel events or hold funds if you break these terms, put others at risk, or we are required to by law. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why and what you can do about it. Rights and duties that are meant to continue, such as paying what you owe and the sections on liability and disputes, continue after an account ends.
11. Disclaimers
Sabi is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it running and secure but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We do not guarantee the quality, safety or legality of any event, and we are not responsible for what organisers, attendees or other users say or do.
12. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Sabi is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss caused by events outside our reasonable control. Our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to the fees we earned from you in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or your rights as a consumer under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.
13. Indemnity
Organisers agree to cover Sabi against claims, losses and costs arising from their events, their content, or their breach of these terms or the law, except to the extent we caused the loss.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Please contact us first at support@sabievents.com and give us a chance to resolve a problem. If we cannot, the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction, unless the law gives you the right to go elsewhere.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when the current version took effect. If a change matters to you, we will tell you in advance by email or on the site; if you keep using Sabi after it takes effect, you accept the new terms.
